Abstract Title: Removal of micropollutants and closing the water cycle using hollow-fiber nanofiltration membranes

Statement on Research: Recognizing the critical need to improve the current capability of removing micropollutants from wastewater treatment systems, NX Filtration with its innovative hollow-fiber nanofiltration membranes. This technology presents itself as a concrete alternative to existing technologies and the advantages seen on the field point for it to become a state of the art method in the future for water reuse applications.

Bio: Passionate about environmental protection and after completing a Master of Science degree in the University of Stuttgart, Germany, I started my career in membrane technology at a major membrane supplier, where I acquired deep knowledge of MBR processes for municipal wastewater treatment as R&D engineer, including the development of a new generation of products which was later successfully released into the market. After that, as a Field Service Engineer working for the same company, I participated in several projects, providing technical support for customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa for commissioning jobs, operator training on site and remotely. I also acquired general knowledge about different membrane processes in other markets when I was directed to another role inside the company. However, my interest in focusing in water and wastewater applications made me pursue other opportunities. I joined NX Filtration in January 2019 attracted by the company’s vision and passion to work for environmental protection and to provide better water quality all over the world and have been part of the company’s great growth experienced in the last year.
