Abstract Title: DEVELOPMENT OF HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FOR TREATING HIGH SALINITY BRINES AND ITS INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Session Title: Advanced Technologies for Joint Desalination and Water Reuse

Statement on Research: Toyobo’s brine concentration membrane has an ability to concentrate high salinity brines with far less energy consumption than conventional technologies. Our membrane technology could be an innovative solution to reuse and recycle water sources for sustainable goals. 

Bio: Mr. Takahito Nakao is a senior engineer in Membrane Business Development Department at Toyobo where he leads the membrane products development for brine concentration. From 2010 to 2018 he was a research engineer in Membrane Development Group at Toyobo Corporate Research Center. He has made many research contributions in membrane developments and membrane performance analysis. He has a B.S. in agriculture and an M.S. in agricultural science from Kyoto University.
